Young tourists in the city? Krakow for children? It seems that Krakow has a lot to offer to families with children and for school groups! To help making up your mind, we publish an article with some suitable attractions for people spending time in Kraków with children.
Krakow guide for children?
Kids are curious tourists and always a demanding audience. Their questions can surprise even the most experienced guide. Guides we cooperate with do not lose a beat in such situations. We love to observe little explorers, realize their expectations and tell them about the wonders of Kraków with sense of humour and creativity. So if you do not know how to show the monuments of the city to children or do not know the legendary Krakow stories, then look at our route Krakow sightseeing with kids!
We know that the youngest love to listen great stories, but they need fun and new incentives as well. Therefore we put on our tour a true fairy-tale place as Candy Manufacture at Grodzka St. In the colorful world of hand-made candies (based on the 18th century recipe), both children and adults would be delighted (especially by watching the fascinating process of forming the sweets)! Then go to the Wawel Hill and seek for the legendary Dragon’s Den – a place full of wonders and magic (it really works on imagination of younger and older visitors).
Krakow for children – Villages of the World
Visiting in the Villages of the World Park can also be a unique and enlightening adventure. What is this place? The park is located on the way to Tyniec Benedictine Monastery and run by Salesians of Don Bosco and volunteers from the Salesian Missionary Voluntary Service ‘Youth for the World’. In this unusual place, space is arranged like a huge map of the world with reconstructed villages of indigenous people from all over the globe. You will find there igloo, tepee, Papuan house on stilts, Peruvian hut or Mongolian yurt. Inside each house you can learn something about ways of living in that particular part of world. You will receive a lot of interesting information about the culture, costumes, everyday objects, local myths and legends or even social and economic problems. It is possible to visit it with a guide or participate in special workshops (excellent offer not only for families with children, but most of all for schools and kindergartens).
Krakow ZOO
City ZOO is one of the children’s favorite attractions, because of it picturesque location in the middle of the Wolski Forest. It has many residents. Among them are, eg. large predators, such as jaguars, leopards, lynxes and lions but also great, gentle herbivores such as elephants and giraffes. In addition to these widely recognized species of animals in you will find the zoo also plenty of not well-known creatures with detailed information about their origin and habits (have you ever heard of Koati or chausie?). The zoo is also inhabited by birds, monkeys, antelopes, hyenas, maned wolves, charming sea lions, and many other animals. There is also a special attraction for kids – mini-zoo, where children can pat and feed some animals, such as goats, rabbits, guinea and Vietnamese pigs.
We have presented only a few suggestions for parents and young tourists, but it is definitely not the end of this matter! Krakow for children is the best place!
