Our guides have lots of experience working with kids and students of all ages. We always do everything we can to make sure that our trips around Wawel Castle or through Krakow’s Old Town are like journeys through time, full of great stories and legends from different chapters of the history of Krakow and the nation of Poland.

    Wawel Hill is a great place to start any trip. This is where little adventurers can discover the Royal Catherdral, step down into the Royal Tombs, climb towers and touch Sigismund’s Bell. The history of kings and queens, St. Stanislaw, national heroes and more surrounds you here. In the courtyard of the Royal Castle, Renaissance architecture provides the backdrop for tales of medieval life and the adventures of knights and tales of bards. The youngest visitors can’t forget about a trip to the dragon’s lair, where our guides will tell the tale of the famous Wawel dragon!

    Leaving the castle behind us, it’s time to start a stroll in the direction of the Old Town and share the stories that make the streets come alive for the smallest guests. Along the way we will visit the most famous and beautiful of Krakow’s attractions like the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul, the clock tower in the main square, the Cloth Hall, St. Mary’s Church, the Florian Gate, the Barbican and much else.

    Krakw Guide - Wawel Cathedral

    Wawel Cathedral

    We start here at the Cathedral on Wawel Hill, the most important holy site in Poland and the site of the coronation and burial of kings. We will look at sculptural images of our kings on gravestones and listen to stories about their many deeds and adventures. We’ll also make a visit to the crypts and enter a tower where a massive bell was mounted in the sixteenth century, Sigismund’s Bell. Each junior explorer will be able to touch its cool metal surface and make a wish which is sure to come true!

    The Royal Castle

    The beautiful cloistered Wawel Castle is the perfect place to talk about life at the royal court in the sixteenth century and see one of the pearls of the Renaissance! The group will have a unique opportunity to feel like knights and ladies of the manor! It also hear the fascinating story of Italian princess who came to the Poland from distant Bari to be our queen and excelled in her new role.

    The Dragon’s Den

    The legendary dragon’s den is also a geological curiosity. We can explore the interior of the great cavern hollowed out by nature in the limestone rock of Wawel Hill and listen to the stories about origins of the legend of the dragon. It’s also a great opportunity to get your mandatory souvenir from Krakow – a picture of you and the fire-breathing dragon!

    Saint Peter and Paul Church (Grodzka Street) - Krakow Tours

    A walk towards the Old City starts on picturesque Kanoniczna street. In the Middle Ages it was the residence of church officials and the famous historian Jan Dlugosz. Many houses preserve Gothic and Renaissance elements. Our stroll continues along the so-called “Royal Route”, the path followed by the monarchs to Wawel during the ceremonial entrances to the city. Grodzka street, one of the most beautiful in Krakow, takes us to the main square and passes in front of the beautiful Baroque church of St. Peter and St. Paul.

    The very center and heart of the city is the primary destination for most visitors to Krakow. This is the largest medieval square in Europe and the focal point for the city’s social and cultural life. There are lots of colourful legends and stories to keep everyone listening to every word and hungry for more!

    You can’t miss two of the more famous landmarks in the main square and most important buildings of the city – the Clock Towerl and the Cloth Hall. We’ll visit both and together figure out just what purpose they served in Krakow’s history. Our guide will explain where the rest of the Clock Tower is and together you’ll stroll through the interior of the Cloth Hall and talk about how it has changed over the centuries. While you’re there, you’ll pass by the multitude of colourful and arts and crafts that visitors have taken home to every corner of the world!

    St. Mary’s Church

    Visitors of all ages find something to love about St. Mary’s  Church. From the legend of the two brothers who built it to the trumpet player to its stunning interior with the famous altar by Wit Stwosz, there truly is something for everyone. Why are the two towers different heights? Why does the trumpter’s tune end that way? Come along with us to find out!

    The Krakow Barbican - Krakow Guide

    The Floriańska Gate and the Barbican

    School trip to Krakow ends with walking down Floriańska street to the main gate of the city and the remains of the medieval walls. We pass through the 14th century St. Florian’s Gate, where kings and distinguished guests once entered the city. We also visit the Barbican, part of the city fortifications located on the other side of the moat that surrounded Krakow in the Middle Ages.
