Read about our routes: Krakow in a nutshell, Royal Route and Kazimierz Jewish District. You will find some useful descriptions of interesting places and objects. Visiting them will allow You to explore the most important facts in the city history and feel its atmosphere.

Main point of Krakow exploring is a walk through the Old Town. Your trail starts from the St. Florian’s Gate, and then runs along the Royal Route – the path that royal processions followed through. It ends on Wawel Hill. On the way You can see the wonders of Floriańska street, Main Market Square and Grodzka Street – many of the finest Krakow monuments!). Krakow tour should be enjoyable, so we encourage You to watch what are you most interested in, however such landmarks as St. Mary’s Church and the Altar by Veit Stoss will surely amaze almost everyone, as well as Wawel Cathedral with its magnificent royal tombs. Walk through the courtyard of the Renaissance Wawel Castle also provides a great experience. If you have more time, choose something from the wide range of exhibitions in the Royal Castle. If they are kids with You, be sure to visit the Dragon’s Den.

Walking through Kazimierz district is always a great experience. Kazimierz was inhabited by two communities – Jewish and Christian for centuries. This district delights with old buildings and slightly south, artistic climate. Visiting Kazimierz is also a unique opportunity to see 7 synagogues. We especially recommend You visiting the Old Synagogue and the still running 16th-century Remuh Synagogue. Fans of sacred art should not forget about the churches of Corpus Christi and St. Catherine’s or the Sanctuary on the Rock (‘Skałka’).

Krakow tour – museums

First of all, we encourage You to read the offer of the History Museum of the City of Krakow and the National Museum in Krakow (their branches hides the most interesting collections) and choose exhibitions which seems most interesting from Your perspective. You could visit the Rynek Underground multimedia exhibition (highly recommended!) or step into the Gallery of Polish Painting in the Cloth Hall with the famous Prussian homage by Jan Matejko. Or maybe You prefer to learn something about the realities of the World War II and Nazi Occupation in Krakow? In such case, You should visit a great museum situated in former Oscar Schindler’s Factory.

During the following days of Your vacations or next stays in Kraków, just broaden your knowledge of the city of kings! Seek new attractions or go back to Your favorite places. You can also go outside the Old Town and Kazimierz. Miracles of Podgórze, Zabłocie or Tyniec are waiting for You! Do not forget that the trip to Krakow should be well planned and thought out in terms of accommodation, transport and dining!

How to plan a tour to a thousand-year-old city famous for its thousands of monuments?
